Available Storage Ltd is committed to protecting the privacy of its customers and the security of any personal information that we hold about our customers. This notice explains the information that we hold, the purposes for which it is held, how it is held and for how long.
By signing our Licence Agreement to use one of our shipping containers for the storage of property, you are voluntarily providing us with some personal information. We agree to store, process and retain this information for the sole purpose of fulfilling the services offered by Available Storage Ltd and in accordance with applicable law.
The data that you provide us with consists of your name, address, telephone number and email address and a photocopy of a form of ID to confirm your postal address. Names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses are held both electronically and on paper. Photocopies of ID are only ever held on paper and no data is extracted.
We use the electronic data solely for the issuing of invoices and the re-issuing of the annual Licence Agreement. This electronic data is deleted when we create your final invoice / credit note when we return your deposit after you have left. We keep a paper copy of your annual Licence Agreement which includes the copy of your ID, for up to a year after you have left.
All information, both electronic and paper, is held securely. Paper copies of your invoices are shared temporarily with our accountants for the purposes of creating our accounts and are then kept by us for six years in order to meet our tax regulations. Other than for the purpose of fulfilling the services offered by us, we will hold your data in the strictest confidence and not disclose or allow access to your data to anyone other than if we are required to do so by law or are ordered to do so by a Court.
Under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) you have a right to access, correct, restrict or erase the data that we hold about you. You can do this at any time by contacting us, however, please be aware that asking us to restrict or erase the data that we hold could invalidate your License Agreement.
